Animal rescue workers are an angel for the animals we love and care about.

Every year approximately 600 million pets are abandoned around the world with only a fraction ever making it to a shelter. Those that are lucky enough to make it there still have to hope there is enough space for them. If not, then they end up being "humanely destroyed".

But what can they do?

More and more people are breeding animals for profit so these death-row pets are going unadopted. Even those pets that do have a home could be abandoned at any time when they become an inconvenience/burden to the owner.

Pet shelters only have limited space and funding and are doing the best they can with available resources.

Rescue workers need to make hard choices and sacrifices every single day that is hard to fathom.
